ABOUT
Jeya Raveendran Dance Academy
Established in 2015, Jeya Raveendran Dance Academy (JRDA) has grown from its early classes in London into a thriving dance academy with students across London and other parts of England.
At the heart of JRDA is a simple idea: to create a place where students can enjoy dance, build confidence, develop their ability and experience the excitement of performing together.
We welcome complete beginners as well as experienced dancers, with classes for Baby Beginners, Kids, Teens and Adults.
Our Dance Style
Tamil cinema, Kuthu and Gaana are at the heart of JRDA, alongside South Indian influences and open-style choreography. Our classes combine musicality, energy, technique and individual expression.
Confidence & Development
Dance is about more than learning choreography. We encourage our students to develop confidence, discipline, teamwork, musicality and stage presence as they progress through the academy.
Performance Opportunities
Students have opportunities to perform at JRDA productions and selected community events, giving them valuable stage experience and the chance to perform alongside students from across the academy.
From First Class to the Stage
Some students arrive at JRDA having never danced before. Others join with years of experience. Our classes are designed to help students progress at their own level while enjoying being part of a team.
For our youngest dancers, the journey can begin with rhythm, coordination and confidence. As students progress, classes introduce more challenging choreography, musicality and performance skills.
For adults, JRDA provides an energetic and welcoming environment to learn choreography, stay active and enjoy dance.
One Academy. Many Locations.
JRDA currently runs regular classes in Aylesbury, Coventry, Croydon, East Ham, Harrow, Milton Keynes, Redbridge, Rugby, Sidcup, Sutton and Watford.
Each location has its own students and classes, but together they form one JRDA community. Throughout the year, students from different locations have opportunities to come together through performances, events and academy productions.
Founded by Jeya Raveendran
JRDA was founded by dancer and choreographer Jeya Raveendran with the aim of creating high-energy dance training rooted in Tamil and South Indian music and dance influences, while providing an environment where students can develop as dancers and performers.
Since 2015, JRDA has continued to grow its classes, teaching team, performances and student community while keeping the enjoyment of dance at the centre of the academy.
